    The Oklahoma Ambulance Association (OKAMA) is proud to announce we will present our Fourth Annual Stars of Life Banquet and Awards Ceremony where we will honor the best and brightest EMS providers from across our State. This event will be held on April 24th following our Spring Education Conference held on the April 23rd. Enclosed with this announcement is an application form that you can use to submit a nominee for Star of Life recognition which will then be placed into review for a possible all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. in March to represent Oklahoma at the American Ambulance Association's Star of Life ceremony. Please note that you must be a member of OKAMA and may submit up to two nominees. If you are not currently a member, simply get a membership application on this web site and join today! Deadline for Stars nominations is 4:00 pm, Thursday, January 31, 2013.

    The Oklahoma Ambulance Association is looking for current members who have an interest in serving on our Board of Directors. Ray Simpson, Chair of the Nominating Committee, is currently taking names of possible candidates who would be interested in running for election and serving a two-year term commencing in April of 2013. We welcome any qualified party, who currently holds an Active membership and is interested in serving the ambulance industry in Oklahoma.     The Oklahoma Ambulance Association will be holding its Fall Conference on Wednesday, October 24h, at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. This year's speakers will include Dale Adkerson with the State of Oklahoma, Lisa Gifford from the Oklahoma Health Care Authority, Ron Thackery, with American Medical Response and Angie Lehman, with EMSA. The host site for the OKAMA conference is the Oklahoma History Center, Chesapeake Room. A Conference Brochure complete with times, locations and registration information is attached.

    We want to welcome you to the OKAMA Fall 2012 Conference and Trade Show, Wednesday October 24, 2012, at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. To register you may: 1. Download, print and fax in the registration form. Either mail in the payment or pay at the conference. 2. Scan and email the registration form and mail or pay at the conference. 3. Download, print and mail in the registration form and payment. If your company pays $2,500 in dues your participants attend free, however let us know who is coming so we can produce a name tag in advance and have an accurate count for meals. See the attached registration forms which can also be found on the OKAMA website at www.okama.org. Additional conference information can be found on the website.     The Oklahoma Ambulance Association is pleased to announce that we will be returning to the beautiful History Center in Oklahoma City for our Fall Conference. Save the date of Wednesday, October 24th for our conference. This conference will include a presentation from Ron Thackery, National VP - Safety and Risk Management for American Medical Response and a Billing and Coding class. Additional information and registration forms will be available soon, but please mark the date on your calendars today and plan to attend in October!

    The Oklahoma State Department of Health-Emergency Medical Services has posted on its web site, the 2013 draft medical protocols for Oklahoma, developed through a contract with The Oklahoma University College of Community Medicine. At this time the State is soliciting feedback and comments from all interested parties. The public comments will be discussed at the next Medical Director Sub Committee meeting on August 15th. Comments can be sent to Dale Adkerson, EMS Director at dale@health.ok.gov. A PDF of the protocols is attached.
